Hindhead Supported Living Service support tenants living at The Old Manse and Salima, both located in the village of Beacon Hill, near Hindhead and additional flats are being developed closeby.
The village offers a range of shopping, social, sporting and religious amenities. There is a GP surgery close-by in Grayshott and in Beacon Hill there is a chemist, dentist, newsagents, butchers, an off license and a pub as well as restaurants and takeaways.
There are other towns nearby that are easy to get to by train or bus such as Farnham and Guildford. Guildford is the nearest big town and is great for shopping and visits to the cinema and theatres.
Hindhead has the Devil’s punchbowl National Trust grounds and nearby are Frensham Ponds and Waggoner’s Wells all offering relaxing retreats and the chance for a leisurely walk.
Hindhead Supported Living Service provides housing related support for adults with a learning disability and for some who also have additional mental health needs. Whitmore Vale Housing Association is the Landlord and provides staff to support the people that live in The Old Manse and Salima. The Old Manse is a detached six bed roomed house suitable for six tenants. It has a sitting room, a dining room, a large kitchen, two bathrooms, a separate toilet and office. The office where the staff are based is at The Old Manse.
Salima is a three bed roomed semi-detached house near to the Old Manse and suitable for three tenants. It has a kitchen, conservatory, sitting room, a downstairs toilet and upstairs bathroom. Staff visit Salima daily to provide support but tenants from Salima can telephone or go to The Old Manse at any time to talk to staff.
The funding for the staff to support tenants comes from Supporting People and Social Services. Supporting People provides Housing related support.

Every tenant supported by Hindhead Supported Living Service will have a support plan which is agreed between the staff and tenant.
Staff are at The Old Manse during the waking day. At night there is a phone that can be used for all kinds of emergencies.

All staff are carefully selected through our recruitment and selection procedure and prior to appointment are subjected to a criminal records bureau check, an occupational health check and a requirement of two references.
The staff team have a suitable range of experience to provide the support required by the tenants of Hindhead Supported Living Service. This is achieved through careful selection, induction and training for developing their individual skills and knowledge in ways relevant to enabling them to provide the best possible service.
Hindhead Supported Living Service operates a comprehensive system of monitoring and assessment. The senior manager is assigned specifically to ensure that the organisation’s services consistently meet the high standards set out in our policies and procedures and working instructions.
